STRUCTURE CONTOUR MAP OF LAKE MALAWI

Most seismic interpretation projects at RSMAS are completed on an interactive seismic interpretation workstation. This image is a structure contour map of the central half-graben basin of Lake Malawi. It shows a series of linked fault systems on which most continental extension and subsidence in the basin are accommodated. The upper left part of the image is a sloping relay ramp, one of the principal sediment pathways of material reaching the lake's deep.
